Axial thermometers are used when it is possible to completely immerse the thermowell into the medium at a pressure not exceeding the permissible values. The immersion thermometer is inserted into a special threaded thermowell, which is screwed into a boss provided on the pipeline or equipment in a place convenient for observing thermometer readings. In order to avoid distortion of the thermometer readings, it is recommended to lubricate the immersion stem with a special paste to ensure contact between the stem and the thermowell.
